A pregnancy is always accompanied by physical and mental change. In prenatal yoga, the postures (Asanas) and breathing exercises (Pranayama) are specially tailored to the needs of pregnant women, with a view to preparing for birth. Tension that has developed is relieved, discomforts during pregnancy are alleviated, and stress and tiredness are reduced.
Conscious breathing promotes concentration and is an exceptional tool with which to clarify one’s thoughts and relax the body during pregnancy and birth.
Yoga can be practiced during pregnancy from the 13th week (in the case of beginners) or from the 1st week (in the case of already practicing yoginis) right up until term.
